Allerton High visit, music creations and maths madness!

This week was certainly a busy one – rounding off our work with decimals and percentages and beginning our non-fiction booklet work on lizards. We continued to read our class novel ‘Holes’ and finally, we know what Mr Sir and the Warden are searching for! Kissin’ Kate Barlow’s treasure!

In RE we explored different Jewish festivals and the reasons that each are celebrated. In music, we perfected our digital mixes with some absolutely fantastic results. Mrs Cosavella was especially impressed with 6D’s creative take on the task – she could certainly see that we have many artists in our class!

Talking about artists… This week I have been amazed by the artistic contributions that students in 6D have made towards our RE display. A special shout out has to go to Jeffery for handing in multiple contributions and to Benjamin for an ambitious, colourful piece.

Maths has seen us bringing together our knowledge on fractions, decimals and percentages. A big congratulations to all the students for their hard work this half term. A special shout out to Macy, Zein, Luca, Amber and Harleen for completing all three of the ‘pepper’ worksheets this week!

We also had the pleasure of visiting Allerton High this week for the first of three Science lessons. We discussed lab safety, noting all the safety issues across a series of cartoons. We then carried out an experiment using small plastic ‘popper’ monsters and had great fun. There were some fantastic questions asked by Majd, Lucas and Romanie. Well done.

I hope that you have a fantastic break over the half term and many thanks for all your continued hard work 6D!

Miss Davies 🙂
